For the past several days, we have been watching our country cry out. We are heartbroken, angry, frustrated, and saddened to see the continued unjust treatment of the Black community. And we are done being stunned into silence.
Solidarity
To the loved ones of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Sean Reed, Tony McDade, and too many others, we could never know the depths of your anguish, but we stand with you.
To the peaceful protestors, the reporters, and everyone who is uncovering and standing up to injustice, we stand with you.
We are humbled by your courage and stand in solidarity with all of you, against racism, oppression, injustice, and violence. We are an anti-racist company and intend to do our part to listen, learn, and act accordingly.
Pledge
Since the first day we opened for business, we have supported local and national environmental organizations, because we believe in taking care of the planet. We always will. It's about respect. But how do you respect the earth if you don't respect all of its peoples?
Going forward, we will be matching our donations to environmental groups with donations to the ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center, Color of Change, and organizations that empower and enrich the Black community and promote dialogue and education around racism.
This not just for today, or the month of June. This is our commitment going forward until our little soap company is no longer.
Purpose
This is just the beginning of our commitment to justice and equality. We will be going beyond monetary donations and examining all aspects of our business processes, from ingredient sourcing to banking, to ensure that we are doing everything we can to ensure peace, health and prosperity for everyone involved.
It's going to take time, we may make mistakes along the way, and we will learn from those mistakes and always look for the best way forward.
