We believe that what you put on your skin should be just as healthy as what you eat. Our focus is to create beautiful, effective, and luxuriant bar soaps and body care products that celebrate the scents and nurturing powers of nature. Our formulas are inspired and informed by the beauty and bounty surrounding our Northern California studio.
All our products are made in small batches from thoughtfully sourced ingredients that are good for your skin and gentle on the earth.
We use food grade botanicals and the highest quality essential oils. We are paraben, phthalate, and sulfate free and never use synthetic dyes or perfumes. We do not test on animals and neither do our sources.
Much care and thought goes into our production process to minimize waste and energy consumption. Everything, from oils to wrapping paper to the energy used to power the studio, is sourced and selected with the environment in mind.
In addition to monitoring our processes, we are committed to giving back a portion of our sales to organizations that support our community and the planet we all share. More details on our donation program can be found here.

Our soaps are made with a balanced blend of oils and plant butters, nurturing and antioxidant botanicals, mineral-rich clays, and pure essential oils, to cleanse, hydrate and nourish all skin types. Small batch production at low temperatures allows us to ensure the integrity of each ingredient.
Every step of our process is hands-on. It may take more time but allows us to make sure you get the best bar of soap possible.
Our process begins with a careful assessment of each ingredient, measured out and slowly hand blended until all the oils, infusions and botanicals are fully integrated.
The raw soap is then poured into simple molds until set.
We then hand cut, batch stamp, and cure each bar for 8-10 weeks. The bars are then polished and wrapped in artisanal letterpress papers.
We make our soaps using the cold-process method, which generally means keeping the temperature quite low throughout the entire process. However, we have adapted this method and customized it for the unique needs of the various ingredients used in our different varieties.
For example, we keep the temperature as low as possible when making our Honey Lavender soap to preserve as much of the beneficial qualities of the honey. Other varieties, such as our Sage soap, are made at a slightly higher temperature to produce a particular shade of grey/green from the clays we use, since the multiple varieties of sage essential oil we use are stable at those temps.
To develop our scents, we have collected an extensive library of essential oils, absolutes, and resins, and are continually experimenting with different blends.
Experimentation usually happens in short creative bursts to avoid becoming temporarily scent-blind.
All our lotion varieties (except Unscented) are made with a unique blend of essential oils, absolutes, and floral and herbal distillates, some of which we produce ourselves using locally sourced botanicals.
Some of these ingredients, such as Moroccan Rose and Neroli oils, are quite rare and delicate, and can't survive the soap making process. In our lotions, however, their exquisite characteristics provide a rich, persistent and beneficial aroma.
Prickly Pear, Guava, Passionfruit, and Sacha Inchi oils form the basis for all our lotions. These oils contain high levels of linoleic and linolenic acids, essential fatty acids that moisturize and protect without clogging your pores. Their anti-inflammatory properties can also help reduce acne and increase moisture retention.
Beneficial botanical extracts and enzymes provide nourishment and antioxidants to tone your skin and promote suppleness and elasticity. Oat, Marula, Papaya, and Plum oils are used to provide a lush texture and absorb rapidly leaving your skin feeling silky with no greasiness.
